Re: Sakho, Carroll, Valencia, Eminike
Sakho can stay as he can play both as striker and on the wing.
The rest can leave imo

Re: Sakho, Carroll, Valencia, Eminike
It's a tough one isn't it?

I making the correct decision on this issue is probably what will define how we'll do next season

I quite like Eminike but he just hasn't done enough to warrant a permanent signing

Valencia has had a poor season which started off badly with his injury. Hasn't lived up to his price tag

Sakho seems to have his head all over the place at the moment & the stroppy side of his character seems to have come to the fore. I can imagine him being the first to knock on Bilic's door when we sign a new striker

Carroll is a rarity these days. An old-fashioned English CF who can dominate in the air & single-handedly win matches on his day. He is desperately slow, injury-prone & misses far too many easy chances

It may be a question of signing an outstanding striker, then see what offers come in for the latter 3

What yesterday showed was that we can create even without Payet - all be it against an average side who were already thinking about Majorka (sic).
Need better finishers, if we can find them.
Also feel another creative midfielder would not go amiss as there has got to be a concern about Payet after the Euros

Have to say in the cold light of day I am gutted that we are being categorised along with Spurs, you know come the business end of the season we both whimp out.

I would. It's silly to have that much turnover, no matter how much money you have.

Carroll will absolutely run over some teams in the Europa League, should we get there and he's not going anywhere anyway and Sakho deserves a chance to get his head right, has shown himself to be a natural finisher at time.

I hope some nice Chinese team can help us recoup our fee on Valenica. EE sadly is a no brainer.

My worry with Sakho is that he's a massive disruption waiting to happen. His strop earlier this season came at the worst time for us.

As per the post below, I hope it can be worked out, but I wouldn't want to be counting on him as our number one striker

I wouldn't be totally surprised if none of them were here next season.

I'd keep Sakho and Carroll and look to replace Eminke and Valencia with a top striker.

Really I though we attacked pretty well before everybody gave up in the second half of the season.

I'd keep Carroll and Sakho, but they need to drop to being our 3rd and 4th choice strikers if we are to keep up next season.

just keep sakho and carroll albeit they both like an injury

the other 2 aren't good enough

Re: Sakho, Carroll, Valencia, Eminike
I'd like to think that Sakho's problems (whatever they are) will be overcome and he can be the player he was last year. If the staff believe that this is possible, keep him.
Carroll will only ever do what Carroll does (basically win the ball in the air, or threaten to do so which itself can be effective). He is paid way too much for his limited use in our otherwise very athletic squad, so sell him - I'd take half the transfer fee he cost us.
Emenike and Valencia both appear to try hard, but neither has featured in our best performances this season, so adios amigos.

I ask only one thing of a new striker, that he gives the impression that at any time he has the ball he is about to pull the trigger. That means being as 2-footed as possible, a la Aguero. The last player we had like that was probably Tony Cottee. Hurst could do it too.

Be mad to let go of Sakho and Carroll. With a top striker coming in if we make europa I could see all 3 getting alot of game time.

Valencia and Eminike can go and I think they will.

We had Sheringham as an attacking coach under Sam. Didn't help us much.

Sakho - keep
Carroll- This is a tough one he is a good impact player but if he gets another big injury again he's career could be over so sell him.

Valencia- is a lightweight he can go.

Eminike - pace is all he has he can go

Re: Sakho, Carroll, Valencia, Eminike
Whilst all the focus is on this '20 goals a season' striker, isn't there a case to look at the coaching?

One of the joys this season has been the fact that goals have come from all parts of the side with15 different goal scorers this season scoring 69 goals.

So, I'd like to see them go for the big signing, but also look at getting in an attacking coach to supplement the backroom team.

Re: Sakho, Carroll, Valencia, Eminike
Sakho's been out of the team as much through injury as form & his injury record over the last 18 months or so hasn't been great either.

All that business about him being injured for the Man U cup game was cobblers , he threw a strop because he wasn't picked for Arsenal & let the club/team down.

Police , arrests , girlfriend / daughter issues , car smashes & cryptic messages, the guy is carrying too much baggage, injured too frequently all of which you might live with if he was a top notch striker , but he's not.

Get rid ASAP whilst he has some value.

Still, I can understand why some might want to give him 1 more go based on his first 6 months here. However, as for Valencia, anyone wanting to keep him is a loon.

Re: Sakho, Carroll, Valencia, Eminike
I've been impressed with Sakho in the past, but he's not the brightest and appears psychologically weal to boot. Carrol's decision making is awful apart form 20 minute spells of clarity when we times good runs from the edge of the box and gets everyone talking about England. Valencia seemed great for a while in tandem with Sakho last season but is either an underused or spent force. Emineke? Willing, but cannot see the point in a striker with no end product at all.

It would be nice to have some consistent, multi-faceted forwards with brains for a change. Clear 'em out.

I'd keep Carroll and get rid of the others especially that waste of space Eminike

Re: Sakho, Carroll, Valencia, Eminike
Always room for improvement so there shouldn't be a single player in the team who isn't replaceable.

Think Sakho's attitude has shown recently that his future lies elsewhere and other than he's not good enough, I'm sure Valencia will also be out of the door for regular starts somewhere.

Emineke is just on loan so will be gone and I think Carroll has more than deserved a stay at the club this season, as he's been excellent on numerous occasions.

Still, hopefully none of the above would be the first strikers name on the teamsheet anyway next season, if we get in the proper goalscorer we've been crying out for.

Re: Sakho, Carroll, Valencia, Eminike
I've never seen Sakho looks like he has a bad attitude or moody on the pitch. Not sure where all this has come from really.

He was pissed off at being left out the team, i've no problem with that. I'd much rather he gave a shit and wanted to play then be happy to pick up thousands a week sitting on the bench.

He has to stay for me, at the moment the best striker we have and have had for years.
